What's going on?

It has been quite a while since I last did a post on my activities.

Well I finished all of the vocal takes for my new album in a marathon 7 hours, split over two days, last month!

Working on track four, out of ten songs in total.

Going well and this eighth album has no guitars on it only synthesizers, sound effects and drum beats.

Keep you posted throughout the process of the progress on my new album.

I'm the meantime, check out my website!

Latest News: My debut guitar instrumental album Delay hitting the streaming highway!

Like a British bus, you wait for a long time then two come at the same time, or close by; which has seen my debut guitar instrumental album Delay hitting the streaming highway!

The reason I called it Delay was because I've heavily used the delay effect on all of the instruments to a greater or lesser degree.

I have put a lot into this album and it gave me a chance to experiment with different drum beats and mixing different drum kits and taking samples from my own performances on my electronic Alesis Compact Drum Kit 7 and mixing them all together for some interesting variations and styles added to each track.

I also experimented with using the effects and doubling them to the MAX! Creating some strange sounds but more importantly for me is to make my music accessible to you all!

The first track Breeze I picked the guitar strings with different strokes and added the delay effect to wrap around the drum beat.

I have for the first time programmed (but I can play the notes used on the keyboard) synthesizer parts on the reggae/dub composition of Marching, and accompanying the guitar riff on Slipping.

I actually forget I recorded quite a bit of lead guitar and was pleasantly surprised when reviewing my recordings to put into this album of the sweet lead guitar work, which has ended up on Humble, Floating, Bubbling, and Flowing.

Tracks that sound more like techno tunes, but are actually effects on my guitars and bass are Flux, Flexing, and Stomp, with different drum styles that could transcend across the music spectrum including rock and metal.

Anyway, don't take my word for it! Check it fans @Apple Music

Overworking on this album project!

Developing new ways in producing my music has meant working in one direction, then changing direction when the result was disappointing, thus adding more frustration in getting this album project finished.

It is like I've recorded four albums, as the amount of times re-recording parts and re-working parts of the songs has meant I've been doing too much in getting this album project completed.

I always get the projects that I set out to do, done, in the end!

But this new album of mine will be liked by you my fans: new, old and in the future!

Keep on Rockin'!

Drums?

I have completed four songs so far, which is featuring electronic drums played by myself.

As I didn't intend to play the drums, I have sampled some of my drum playing, which is making this project fun once again.

I didn't think of using my drum playing throughout my songs, but due to the difficulty in getting my guitar playing synchronised with the drums I programmed in the Cubase DAW*, meant that playing the drums I could get the right tempo for each part of the songs.

The reason for the difficulty was because I used a drum machine within the studio recording outboard equipment and when I transfered the WAV files to my computer the Cubase used a different value, so fitting the programmed drums wasn't very good.

As time goes on I'm getting better in the way I'm working in performing and recording my music.

* DAW: Digital Audio Workstation.

News: Instrumental Guitar Album Project

During working on my sixth album I recorded extra guitar and drums, which has meant that I've got three instrumental backing tracks and one track of lead guitar, which is very good and features wah-wah effects, plus I have programmed some studio effects in Cubase DAW to add different sonic dimensions to my lead guitar work.

When I record the drums it will be on a proper full sized electronic drum kit, with mesh drum skins that adds the real response and sound of a traditional drum kit.

Expanding the way I'm working is making music more exciting, with better results.

Update April

Hello my Fans,

Now that my new music video Breakout! has been completed, I'm going to be finishing off my sixth album, which will take six months to complete.

The bulk of the album has been recorded - actually three years ago.

However, I need to do some more editing, writing more lyrics for a few of the songs, and record the vocals.

I will keep you all informed on my progress.
